BLK Parade Production Co.
A Collective of Storytellers, Artists, and Dreamers
BLK Parade Production Co. is a creative engine built on collaboration, storytelling, and the fearless pursuit of art in all its forms. Rooted in the prairies and carried forward to the mountains and coasts, BLK Parade thrives at the crossroads of literature, visual art, music, and performance. Our mission is to create works that are immersive, honest, and unafraid to push boundaries—whether through novels, photography, film concepts, or community-driven projects. As a partner of Oceanfire House of Art, BLK Parade brings a spirit of experimentation and bold imagination to Kaslo’s artistic landscape. The company continues to champion voices that tell stories of place, memory, rebellion, and wonder, often weaving the surreal with the everyday.
Resident Artist: Jon Giesbrecht
At the helm of BLK Parade is Jon Giesbrecht, a writer, photographer, and multidisciplinary creator whose work spans across children’s literature, prairie gothic novels, Viking sagas, and community-based art projects. As a resident artist with Oceanfire House of Art, Jon contributes an eclectic body of work that reflects both his Saskatchewan roots and his collaborative spirit in British Columbia. Jon’s vision is expansive: from creating immersive story universes such as Mittzy’s Midnight Adventures and The Prairie Almanac of Oddities to developing recovery-focused initiatives like the Shipwreck Cove Foundation, his practice connects art to healing, adventure, and community. Through BLK Parade Production Co., Jon seeks to inspire others to tell their own stories, discover new forms of expression, and see the world through a lens of curiosity and imagination.
✨ Together, Oceanfire House of Art and BLK Parade Production Co. nurture a space where art is not only created but lived, shared, and celebrated.
